Mission.com is an apparel company selling cooling gear that helps people do more in the heat. Whether you’re working out or just working in the yard, Mission’s cooling gaiters, hats and towels are machine washable and offer UPF 50 sun protection. Their team of  celebrity athlete co-founders, including Serena Williams, Drew Brees, and Wyane Wade, are a key part of their marketing strategy. 

When Mission.com wanted to engage with their celebrity co-founder’s online fans, they turned to text marketing to drive traffic that couldn’t be reached by social media alone. In partnership with NFL player Drew Brees, they combined a social post with a text campaign asking fans to text in for an opportunity to win. Entrants were added to a fan contact list, which helped them grow their long-term reach.
